Emma Raducanu has begun her preparations for her first appearance since being crowned US Open champion by taking on some words of wisdom from a British icon.
The 18-year-old, who turns 19 next month, was spotted heading out to training at Indian Wells with Andy Murray, as the pair prepared for their first round ties at the BNP Paribas Open.
Raducanu beat Leylah Fernandez inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium in September to become the first British woman to win at Flushing Meadows since 1968.

In Murray, Raducanu found a partner with similar experience, the Scot having won the men’s competition in 2012.
Murray has already had an eventful start to his Indian Wells experience this year, the tournament running for the first time since 2019.
The 34-year-old launched a social media plea to be reunited with his wedding ring after leaving them attached to his trainers, which he left under his car to dry after a training session.
Posting a photo to his 1.7million Instagram followers, Murray showed himself holding his wedding ring and sniffing his shoes.
He included five hashtags to mark the positive update: #ring, #shoes, #stench, #goodbooks and #idiot.
And he appeared to have learned his lesson on Friday, with no sign of his wedding ring being attached to his under armour trainers.

The pair appeared in high spirits, chatting as they entered the courts and even posing for the cameras.
Murray could also be seen chatting with Raducanu’s temporary coach Jeremy Bates. The teenager dumped her coach Andrew Richardson just weeks after her US Open triumph last month.
She has been given top billing at Indian Wells and appears as the main event on the main court on Friday evening – the early hours of Saturday UK time – as she tackles Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round having received an initial bye.
Murray, who has been granted wildcard entry to the tournament, faces Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in his first clash.
